Starting in early December, the brightly lit streets announce the coming of Christmas. The mid-month fair marks the beginning of a series of activities to commemorate one of the most popular family events of the year. Trees and decorations adorn the houses and an atmosphere of friendship and peace fills the air. And between one feast and the next, there are opportunities to enjoy a wide range of activities organized to celebrate the Christmas season.
The ultimate theater presentation is Els Pastorets, with various performances over the course of the Christmas season. This time of year, our little ones are the main stars: children’s shows, the Catalan Christmas character “Caga Tió”, the delivery of children’s letters to the Three Kings’ page, Viu-Viu, and the arrival of the Three Kings themselves, bringing gifts to the children. These are also opportunities to support the Campanya del Somriure (Smile Campaign), which ensures that no child misses out on a toy.
The Christmas concerts, the Route of the Nativity Scenes, the Midnight Mass, and the New Year’s Eve celebrations round out the events of a season when family and friendship create real magic.

Olesa de Montserrat is a municipality rich in culture and tradition, located in the foothills of the mountain of Montserrat. Olesa de Montserrat is located in the north of the comarca (county) of Baix Llobregat, in the subcomarca of Montserratí, halfway between Barcelona and the Montserrat Monastery. The natural area of the municipality, with its beautiful and magnificent scenery, is bounded by the Llobregat river and the mountain chains of Sant Salvador de les Espases and Puigventós. Olesa’s roots are markedly agricultural; it is noted in particular for its cultivation of olives of the palomar or Olesan variety, native to the region, from which the famous Olesan oil is extracted.
